Opera brings its free VPN to iOS to rival Apple and Google’s paid alternatives

The world has seen a big rise in demand for private, secure networks over the past few years. Apple and Google have both jumped on this bandwagon, offering paid virtual private network (VPN) services to their customers. Now, however, the software developer Opera is bringing their own VPN to iOS, which is completely free.

Opera’s new VPN offers users fast, reliable connection without the need to pay a monthly fee. It also promises to keep user data, IP addresses and location private and to protect users against hackers and malicious actors on the web. The VPN is also reportedly very simple and easy to operate, requiring little technical knowledge.

This is a big shake-up of the market for virtual private networks, which has previously been dominated by the likes of Apple and Google. Those providers charge users a monthly fee, sometimes as high as $15 or $20 per month, for the use of their VPNs. Opera’s free offering is a welcome alternative for those who are looking for a secure connection without having to pay for it.

As well as offering an attractive alternative to paid services, Opera’s new VPN also provides users with access to a network of different proxy servers from around the world. This is useful for those who are looking to access content that is blocked in their home country, or who are simply looking to browse the web anonymously.

The release of Opera’s new VPN is great news for iPhone and iPad users, who now have access to a completely free and secure means of connecting to the internet. It’s a stark contrast to the monthly fees charged by Apple and Google, and one that is likely to be welcomed by many.
