Microsoft Edge, when it first released in 2015, received a very lukewarm response from the general public. Many people found it to be unreliable, unsecure and a general nuisance. But fast forward six years and Microsoft Edge is actually good!
One of the biggest updates to Microsoft Edge is within its security and reliability. This was a major issue in the early days, but Microsoft have since made major improvements to the browser. Microsoft Edge is now the most secure Windows browser available and provides users the best protection against potential exploits.

An independent study conducted by NSS Labs revealed that Microsoft Edge was faster than Google Chrome when it came to loading webpages, startup time and page-load speed on a variety of sites. The most underrated feature of Microsoft Edge however is the Collections feature. This tool allows you to create and organize collections of webpages. It enables users to drag and drop items from different sites and organize them into folders which can be synced with other devices. It’s an extremely useful feature for those who frequently use multiple websites and need to quickly swap between them.
Finally, there are a lot of small technical aspects of Microsoft Edge that have been improved since its release in 2015. These include the ability to install Chrome extensions, access to the Chromium open-source project, and a streamlined design that allows for smoother navigation.
Ultimately, Microsoft Edge has come a long way since its initial release. A combination of improved security and speed, plus the useful Collections feature make it a great choice that doesn’t compromise on your safety or browsing speed. What’s more, they are not done yet, with further updates scheduled for the near future.
