Xbox Series X|S games with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support

The new Xbox Series X|S consoles released in November 2020 introduced passionate gaming fans to a promising new era of immersive graphics and sound. With the unprecedented power of the Xbox Velocity Architecture, to the stunning visuals of Ray Tracing, the next generation of console gaming has delivered on it’s early promise.

But one of the biggest innovations of the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles is the ability to play games with the top-of-the-line Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technologies. Dolby Vision allows gamers to experience incredibly realistic, gaming visuals with improved brightness, contrast and color, while Dolby Atmos provides a realistic, 3D soundscape with spatial audio.

Unfortunately, right now there aren’t a whole lot of games with full Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support available. However, there are a few current titles with these features, as well as some upcoming titles that have been confirmed to take advantage of the technology.

First off, the RPG classic The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Enhanced Edition, available from the Microsoft store, supports both Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. This expanded version of the original award-winning game includes a host of technical improvements, including visuals enhanced for the next-gen systems.

Capcom’s highly-anticipated action-RPG Monster Hunter Rise is set to feature full Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support when it releases on the 26th of March. And Ubisoft also recently announced that their upcoming open-world action game, Far Cry 6, will support both Dolby technologies.

Finally, the blockbuster racing game Forza Horizon 4 also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The game allows players to explore a huge open world while they race and customize cars to their heart’s content. And with the support of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, the visuals and sound effects are taken to the next level.

Overall, while the current selection of Xbox Series X|S games with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support is relatively limited, there are a few noteworthy contenders as well as a number of upcoming titles set to make use of these technologies. As time goes on and more developers create games for the new console generation, we’re sure to see more and more titles appear on the list.
