When you think of Disney Parks, the first things that often come to mind are the beloved characters and magical rides. But there is an inspiring group of women behind the scenes who help make these experiences possible for Disney fans around the world.
At Disney Parks, women are making a real impact in their efforts to create amazing experiences for their guests. These women heavily influence the Imagineering, design, technology, and operational teams that bring Disney’s stories and experiences to life.
One of these inspiring women is Diane Miller, a senior show producer with Walt Disney Imagineering. Miller has been a part of the team for over 25 years and has been involved in creating a number of beloved attractions. Miller has been at the helm of projects such as House of the Whispering Willows, The Tower of Terror in Disney California Adventure Park, and Little Mermaid-Under the Sea Adventure in Typhoon Lagoon. Miller’s work is incredibly important to the success of Disney Parks, as she helps to ensure projects run smoothly and on time.
The incredible Flor Lacroix is another woman in a leadership role at Disney Parks. She holds the title of Senior Vice President of the Disney Parks Design and Development Division, which includes the Imagineering Design, Show Quality, and Construction teams on both coasts of the United States and in Shanghai, China. Lacroix oversees the creative direction of all Disney Parks experiences, and her team is responsible for helping to bring every Disney character and story to life in a unique way. Lacroix has earned recognition several times in the past, and is certainly an inspiration to women in STEM everywhere.
Disney Parks also relies on the work of its technology team, which includes Eli Borek. Borek leads the team of engineers and computer scientists at Disney, who work to create innovative experiences and technologies for guests to enjoy. Her team is responsible for the attractions, experiences, and interactive elements of Disney Parks, and she has been instrumental in the development of digital interactive experiences for the parks.
These are just some of the hardworking and inspiring women in STEM who help make Disney Parks what it is today. They all contribute in various ways to the success of the parks and the experiences of their guests, and their stories should be celebrated as an example of what women are capable of in the workplace.
