Bing AI is rolling out to Chrome and Safari, but the experience may not be as good

In recent news, Bing is rolling out their AI-enhanced search feature to Chrome and Safari, meaning users of those browsers will now benefit from faster search results and more targeted content. However, while the addition of AI technology to Bing search may seem great on the surface, the experience may not be as good as those using alternative search engines.

The primary difference between what Bing is offering and that of Google and other popular search engines is that Bing is using AI-driven algorithms to produce search results. This means that the AI is “reading” webpages and trying to make inferences about what types of results are likely to be most useful to the user. While this has the potential to provide an improved experience, it also presents several drawbacks.

One issue with AI-driven search is that it can be less reliable in returning the best possible results. Since the AI is making assumptions about what people are looking for and attempting to adjust the results accordingly, it is possible (and perhaps even likely) that its assumptions and results will be incorrect at times. This could lead to inaccurate and even irrelevant results showing up in search results, which could prove quite problematic in certain scenarios.

Another issue is that AI-based search is likely to become more targeted in the future as the technology grows and improves. Rather than having general results appear for any query, the AI may tailor the search results to fit the user’s individual needs. While this could lead to a more personalized experience, it also has the potential to lead to bias and filter bubbles, where users may only see what the AI believes they should.

In addition, it is important to keep in mind that while AI-based search can be quite useful in certain cases, it is far from perfect. As such, users of Chrome and Safari will still need to use their own judgement and take the time to properly evaluate results in order to get the most out of their online search experience.

Overall, while the addition of AI-driven search to Chrome and Safari may seem like a great idea, it’s important to keep in mind that the experience may not be as good as one may expect. The AI-based algorithms may present some issues and the results may not always be as relevant as one would like. As such, users should be sure to use their own judgement and carefully evaluate the search results they receive.
