Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time. Here at Materials Nexus, founded by CEO Dr. Derk Breemer, we’re working to do something about it.
We’ve just announced that we’ve secured £2 million in a seed funding round. This investment will enable us to research and develop materials and materials engineering to help combat climate change.
Materials Nexus focuses on the use of new, clean materials for energy transformation, storage and production as well as decarbonisation technologies. Our aim is to help society transition to a low-carbon future.
With the money invested, we plan to expand our team to ensure that we have the skills and capabilities needed to build the technologies needed to reduce climate change. We will be hiring more development, scientific and engineering experts to help us to build, test and commercialise our materials and technologies.
We plan to use our technology in areas such as carbon capture and storage, off-grid energy systems and energy transformation. This research will help to advance the development of efficient, low-carbon energy technologies to be used for global societal benefit.
By researching clean technology solutions, Materials Nexus can create jobs, reduce carbon emissions and create a circular economy where resources are reused and reinnovated. In the future, we will be able to use our research to move the UK and the wider world towards a more sustainable, low-carbon future.
We believe that now is the time to take action on climate change. Our seed investment will enable us to develop and deliver on the critical changes necessary to achieve a low-carbon world. We know that we may not be able to make a difference on our own, but we hope to bring the world one step closer to solving this global problem.
