HELPFUL, a startup company based in New York City, has just closed a $7.5 million dollar funding round to launch its family caregiver app that will help families coordinate care for elderly or disabled family members.
The company’s app is designed to help family members communicate and coordinate care for elderly or disabled relatives, and provide resources for managing the complex job of caregiving. The app’s technology utilizes AI to research and provide needed information to its users.
Through HELPFUL’s app, family members can easily organize, share, and manage medical information, medications, appointment reminders and more. Additionally, family caregivers can access expert advice/resources, nearby caregivers, and potential services.
In a statement released by the company, CEO and founder Celina Linde said, “Family caregivers are often overwhelmed and find themselves in need of greater support and resources to fulfill their roles. We founded HELPFUL to make that support accessible and more efficient, and to improve the quality of life for the millions of family caregivers in the U.S.”
This round of funding was led by Corigin Ventures, with additional investments from Great Oaks venture Capital, Barbara Corcoran Venture Partners, Tribeca Venture Partners, and angels Betty Levin, Sheila Marcelo, and Ira Hernowitz.
HELPFUL plans to use the new funds to further develop its app, accelerate its growth, and hire new employees. This new app could provide a much needed resource for the millions of people that are caregivers.
Linde believes that “Caregiving affects too many people, and it’s time for caregivers to get the recognition they deserve and the useful tools to help them. With our team, technology, and newly acquired resources, HELPFUL is positioned to do just that.”
