SpaceX Finally Meets a Launch Goal as 60th Orbital Mission of 2022 Takes Flight

On April 22nd, 2022, SpaceX launched its 60th orbital mission of the year, a record-breaking accomplishment for the private space exploration company.

The successful launch of the Falcon 9 rocket carrying a Dragon capsule full of multiple payloads marked the first time that SpaceX had met its own 56-launch goal. In declaring the mission mission a success, SpaceX made a milestone achievement in its long history of space missions.

It was a momentous occasion for the company and its fans worldwide—the launch of their 60th flight was the culmination of 116 successful flight missions since they first achieved orbital success in 2012. Founded by technology entrepreneur Elon Musk, SpaceX has become an industry leader in reusability and cost efficiency in space exploration endeavors.

The mission launched the “Grace Mission” and sent the spacecraft’s supplies to the International Space Station (ISS). Inside the capsule were a variety of cargo including scientific experiments, food, and other supplies to help keep the ISS operational.

The successful launch was a reflection of SpaceX’s increasing capability to reliably and safely deliver payloads to orbit at a fraction of the cost of any other rocketry companies. Under the guidance of Elon Musk, SpaceX has become the leader in reusable rocketry and an innovator in privatized space exploration.

This success has paved the way for SpaceX to explore deeper into space in future flights, including crewed spaceflights, a lofty goal that seemed out of reach when the company made its first launch back in 2012. With this mission, they’ve made another step towards that goal.

To commemorate the success of their 60th orbital mission, SpaceX released a promotional video highlighting the history of their accomplishments and the importance of their mission. To top it off, Elon Musk tweeted a picture of the successful launch and thanked his team for their hard work.

The success of SpaceX’s 60th orbital mission shows the progress of their ambitious goals. With the continued support of their fans worldwide, they’ll set a new milestone in their journey of privatized space exploration.
