The PlayStation Plus service (PS Plus) is a subscription-based online gaming service provided by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was first introduced in June 2010 and provides access to online multiplayer games, exclusive discounts to games and other deals, and a range of content for members.
The PlayStation Plus service is split into three different levels – Premium, Extra, and Essential. Each of these levels offers varying features and content, so it is important to figure out which one is best for you.
Premium
The Premium tier is the most comprehensive tier of the PlayStation Plus subscription. It comes with all the features of the other tiers and more. This includes access to online multiplayer games, exclusive discounts to games, access to PlayStation Plus-exclusive content such as full game trials, early access to PlayStation Store content, and access to new releases available through the PlayStation Store before anyone else.
In addition, Premium members also have access to 10GB of online storage space, and are eligible to redeem a one-time-only PlayStation store voucher code after six paid months.
Extra
Extra tier is the mid-level tier between Premium and Essential. It includes the same features as the Premium Tier, with the exception of the 10GB of online storage space, the one-time-only PlayStation store voucher code, and access to new releases before anyone else. It does, however, come with exclusive discounts to games.
Essential
Finally, the Essential tier is the lowest tier of the PlayStation Plus subscription. It includes access to online multiplayer games, exclusive discounts to games, and access to PlayStation Plus-exclusive content. It does not, however, include the 10GB of online storage space, the one-time-only PlayStation store voucher code, access to new releases before anyone else, and some of the content available on the Extra and Premium tiers.
Overall, PlayStation Plus is a great service to have if you are an avid PlayStation gamer. Not only do you get access to online multiplayer, discounts to games and exclusive content, but you also get access to some great deals and content.
