In recent years, the Warhammmer 40k franchise of games, books and miniatures game has drawn more and more fans worldwide. The latest installment, the upcoming Space Marine 2, looks to be no exception to this trend.
The recently-released gameplay reveal trailer for Space Marine 2 is certainly living up to the hype. In just one short minute, the trailer packs in plenty of bloody and intense action from a story which promises to keep players – and viewers – on their toes throughout.
The trailer tells us that the main action of Space Marine 2 will take place on a planet known as “Conflict”. Conflict is in disarray and is inhabited by a variety of alien races, each with their own goals and agendas. The player takes on the role of a Space Marine, a highly-trained soldier whose job it is to protect the planet and its inhabitants. Of course, the task ahead is certain to be fraught with danger, and the trailer offers some hints of what’s to come.
One of the trailer’s most intense moments takes place when the Space Marine is confronted by an enemy wielding a huge gun. The Space Marine responds in kind, killing the enemy with a brutal shotgun blast. There are more scenes of gun-fighting, explosions and vicious close-quarters combat, all of which look extremely intense and create the feeling that Space Marine 2 will be anything but a safe and predictable experience.
If the trailer is anything to go by, Space Marine 2 looks set to be a bloody and action-packed experience. While the game is sure to offer plenty of challenge and excitement, its often gruesome imagery may be too much for some players. Either way, this game looks like it will be one to watch out for!
