Path of Exile 2 is now a full standalone game with a closed beta planned for June 2024

The groundbreaking free-to-play action role-playing game, Path of Exile 2, is now officially a full standalone game – and the developers over at Grinding Gear Games have announced a closed beta planned for release in June 2024.

The original Path of Exile first launched in 2013 and has since become one of the most popular online games of all time. Players take on the role of a powerful exile cast out from civilization and thrown deep into Wraeclast, a mysterious continent full of monsters, armies, and deadly locations. Path of Exile 2 aims to build upon this highly popular role-playing format by introducing an entirely new seven-act storyline, a brand new skill system, and significantly updated graphics.

For those who participated in the recent open beta for Path of Exile 2, the closed beta is set to be a vastly improved version of what was first unveiled. Since that time, Grinding Gear Games has been hard at work on a number of tweaks and changes. These include improved graphics and performance, new weapons and monsters, the addition of ranged skills, and a modernized skill system.

The closed beta will last for 3-4 months and will be tested on both PC and console platforms. Players who participated in the open beta will have the ability to transfer their characters and existing gear over to the new game. Fans of the original game who haven’t yet tried the sequel will also be able to take part in the closed beta and experience the fresh adventure.

Path of Exile 2 is a highly anticipated title, and the expected June 2024 release is sure to excite many players. Closed beta is a great chance for gamers to get their hands on the title and make sure it meets expectations before the official launch. Those interested in trying their luck in the closed beta should keep an eye out for announcements from Grinding Gear Games in the near future.
