The nonprofit group “Cooler Heads” was identified by Musk’s lawyers as the target of their accusations. Cooler Heads is a nonprofit organization dedicated to researching the potential risks of climate change and pushing for policies to reduce or mitigate those risks.
The lawyers for Elon Musk alleged that Cooler Heads was working in collaboration with his competitors in the Twitter world. The claims of collusion arose when some of the tweets by Elon Musk’s rivals, including Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey, appeared in the same thread as Cooler Head’s tweets. This led Musk’s lawyers to believe that the nonprofit was helping to spread the messages of his competitors.
In a statement released following the accusations, Cooler Heads denied any involvement with any of Elon Musk’s rivals. They further stated that they had no knowledge of the tweets from the other Twitter accounts and had not taken any actions to help them gain traction.
The accusations from the lawyers of Elon Musk come at a time when the tech entrepreneur is involved in a legal dispute with the National Labor Relations Board. The board is taking action against him for allegedly violating his employees’ rights. This case is still ongoing, and there is no telling what the outcome will be.
Despite the accusations of collusion, the evidence surrounding the claims appears to be thin. It’s unclear whether Musk’s lawyers will be able to back up their allegations with any tangible proof. It remains to be seen how this dispute between Elon Musk and the nonprofit group will play out in the weeks ahead.
