Windows 11 third-party apps break the Start Menu and Microsoft refuses to fix it

Recently, a number of Microsoft Windows 11 users have experienced their Start Menu breaking due to third-party apps. Surprisingly, Microsoft has been refusing to fix the issue, leaving users in the dust.

When it comes to the Start Menu, Windows has been the standard-bearer for decades. It’s no surprise that one of the few things which has remained constant over all the different iterations of the OS is the Start Menu. However, in recent times, many users have reported their Start Menus completely breaking, leaving them unable to open any programs or access any of their settings.

The culprit of this issue are third-party apps; more specifically, third-party app launchers. These app launchers are meant to you give quick and easy access to applications and settings, however, it turns out they don’t play nice with Windows. The problem is that they try to take over the Start Menu and write over it, making it inaccessible.

The unfortunate part about this is that Microsoft’s current stance is to not address this issue. Users affected have been complaining on the Microsoft forums and even reaching out directly to Microsoft, but so far the company hasn’t responded in kind. All users can do is try to uninstall the offending app and hope that it works.

It’s disappointing to see Microsoft refusing to help its users with such an important element of the OS. Not responding to reports of a broken piece of essential software, especially on the latest OS, is downright irresponsible. Hopefully, Microsoft will come to its senses and address the issue in the coming months, or else users may look for other solutions.
