Excitement is at an all time high as the long-awaited Quake 2 Remaster has officially arrived to kick off Quakecon 2023!
Originally released in 1997, Quake 2 is widely regarded as one of the most influential games of its era and continues to have an immense impact on first-person shooters that followed. For most players, the classic title has long lost its glory and was in need of a remaster for a modern audience.
Quake 2 Remaster brings a graphical overhaul that breathes new life into the classic game. With fully updated textures and models, the game looks better than ever before. It also includes new player models for each race, giving us a whole new look and feel.
In addition to the aesthetics, the game also comes with numerous new features that modern players have come to expect from video games, such as a fully customizable controls scheme, local split-screen multiplayer, and a new deathmatch mode. Perhaps the most exciting is the inclusion of a full co-op campaign – something the original lacked.
Fans of the classic title had been clamoring for a remaster of Quake 2, and with it’s arrival it’s sure to be one of the biggest draws at Quakecon this year.
Quake 2 Remaster is available now on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation and is sure to set the tone for the rest of the Quakecon festivities as we journey into 2023.
