Ahsoka Tano, one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars universe, is back and better than ever. The latest trailer released for the upcoming Disney+ series, Ahsoka, gives us a glimpse at the show’s exciting plotlines and confirms the return of a fan-favorite character: Captain Rex.
Set two years after the events of the Clone Wars, the trailer opens with Ahsoka, now living in exile, reflecting on how her former life. We get glimpses of various scenes from the show, including Ahsoka traveling to new planets and assisting their inhabitants with their problems, as well as glimpses of other characters like her new companion, Trace, and a mysterious figure who seems to be stalking her.
But the trailer’s most exciting moment comes towards the end when Ahsoka encounters an old friend, one who was presumed dead for many years. We see her smile as she greets her old comrade, confirming the return of fan-favorite character Captain Rex.
Last seen in the finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Rex, a clone trooper, was presumed dead when his ship crashed on the ocean planet of Seelos. Though that was the last we saw of him, many fans held out hope that he would return one day. Now, thanks to the new trailer, we finally know that Rex will be making his long-awaited return to Star Wars canon.
The return of Captain Rex is only adding to the anticipation that fans have for the upcoming series. With the return of a beloved character combined with a brand-new story-line, Ahsoka looks set to be a must-watch series for any Star Wars fan. We can’t wait for its release later this year.
