Unistellar’s telescope turns your smartphone into a stargazer

As a society, we are overwhelmed with technology, and inherently spend more time looking at our screens than we should. Despite this, French startup Unistellar has found a unique way to bring together both technology and the night sky.

Unistellar has created a revolutionary new telescope called the eVscope that allows amateur astronomers to observe objects such as planets and stars in fantastic detail and clarity. Unlike traditional optical telescopes that require time-consuming manual adjustments and the use of astrophotography to obtain meaningful images, the eVscope allows users to simply point it up at the sky and start imaging the night sky in real-time within minutes.

What makes the eVscope so unique, however, is its ability to be connected to a smartphone and turn it into a stargazer. This connection allows the user to capture stunning images and video of deep space objects and share them on social media. By connecting their smartphones to the telescope, users can take advantage of the eVscope’s Smartphone App, which provides a multitude of features such as guided tours of the night sky, stargazing activities, interactive tutorials and informative videos.

The eVscope also takes away the need for the long, tedious and accurate calculations that often go into telescope use and manually alignees the telescope with the selected object in the sky. It also amplifies the light it collects to produce brighter images and videos, placing it ahead of optical telescopes in image brightness, too.

Unistellar’s innovative telescope could revolutionize the industry and bring space to life for non-professional astronomers. The ability to use the smartphone to observe the night sky gives amateur astronomers an accessible way to learn more about space and share their findings with their friends and family. Even those with no previous experience in astronomy can quickly understand what the eVscope is doing, making it a perfect observatory for any user.
