In ‘Rhymer’, players will take on the role of an alien elf. The goal of the game is to complete tasks and explore the Scottish landscape as they search for their lost family. Along the way, they will encounter a variety of creatures, including traditional Scottish fairies and mythical characters, as they search for the original ancestor – the Rhymer.
With ‘Rhymer’, players will experience a unique blend of modern science fiction and traditional Scottish balladry, with delightful characters and exciting gameplay. Players will build their own elven village, explore and battle the enemies that stand in the way of their progress and form relationships with the locals. There will even be opportunities to take part in the ancient sport of flyting, a traditional Scottish form of verbal sparring.
The game has been created by Glasgow-based developer, Black Dragon Gaming. It will be released on Steam in June and will be the first of its kind. With its imaginative hybrid of science fiction and ancient Scottish folklore, ‘Rhymer’ looks set to be an exciting and innovative game experience.
