Todd Howard wants The Elder Scrolls 6 to be the “ultimate fantasy-world simulator”, but implies it may have been revealed too soon

It looks like long-awaited Elder Scrolls 6 won’t be coming any time soon. Just this week, Bethesda Game Studio’s director Todd Howard hinted that the game has been revealed too soon.

At this year’s E3 show, Howard explained that he wants Elder Scrolls 6 to be the “ultimate fantasy-world simulator”. He said that they’ve been hard at work on the game since 2013, but they’ve been “making great progress.”

However, he also made it clear that Bethesda Game Studios is hesitant to reveal any more information about the game until they are sure it’s ready for public consumption.

“We’ve said you won’t be hearing about [the game] for a long time,” Howard said. “When we actually start talking about it in a real way we think it’s important to have both pieces there. We want to have the trailer, we want to have people’s expectations be there. We’re really happy about this.”

Although fans will have to wait a while to get a good look at Elder Scrolls 6, it sounds like the game could be an incredibly ambitious project. Howard revealed that the game could feature an even more massive world than the beloved Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. The game will also include a robust modding system.

It looks like fans have a long wait ahead of them for Elder Scrolls 6, but the promise of an expansive and moddable fantasy-world simulator should give them something to look forward to. Hopefully Bethesda will reveal more information soon.
