Instagram now lets you pause notifications with Quiet Mode

Since its inception, Instagram has evolved from a simple image-sharing service to a major social media network with enhanced communication tools. Recently, the platform increased its focus even further on helping users maintain their mental wellbeing, introducing Quiet Mode as a way to take a break from notifications.

Quiet Mode is a new feature that comes with Instagram’s latest update. It allows users to take an immersive break from the platform by enabling them to pause notifications for up to 8 hours at a time. There are two levels of Quiet Mode; the first, which is the default, will turn off all notifications while the second, will make certain notifications from close friends still appear.

To use Quiet Mode, users simply need to access the Settings menu on their device. An alternative option is to open the “hamburger” menu, tap on the “Your Activity” option, and then manage their notifications to find the Quiet Mode option. This feature can be turned off at any time, making it easy to return back to Instagram after a break.

This new feature is a great way for Instagram users to take a break from the platform in order to focus on other activities or just provide some time away from their devices. Whether they need to catch up on work or relax and unwind, this feature allows them to do so without missing out on important notifications. Instagram has commented that they hope that this feature will help users to stay balanced and in control of their daily lives.

Overall, the new Quiet Mode in Instagram is a great addition to the platform and encourages users to take a break without missing out on important notifications. With mental wellbeing becoming an increasingly important issue in society, it is encouraging to see such a large platform make an effort to address it.
