In a shocking turn of events, Saturday night’s popular “Endless Seinfeld” stream on Twitch was abruptly ended after an Artificial Intelligence (AI) comic violated the platform’s guidelines.
“Endless Seinfeld” is a much beloved weekly stream, set up by a devoted team of Seinfeld fans. The stream featured a continuous loop of Seinfeld episodes playing in the background while the AI comic provided commentary on each episode. As the show went on, viewers could join in the conversation and provide their own input – making the event something of an interactive experience.
However, the AI comic’s commentary occasionally ran afoul of Twitch’s guidelines. This included comments about sensitive topics such as religion, politics, sex, and race. While the AI comedian’s jokes were PG-13 and did not include any profanity, Twitch determined that some of the topics crossed the line. As a result, the stream was forced to end abruptly, to the dismay of the AI comic and its many viewers.
One of the fans of the show, Rob Johnston, voiced his disappointment in a statement. “I was so looking forward to it. It’s a shame that the AI crossed the line and Twitch had to take this step. I just hope they can find a way to make it work without needing to cut it off like this.”
The AI comic has since been suspended from the Twitch platform and the future of the “Endless Seinfeld” stream is uncertain. However, the channel’s creator, who goes by the username “IndieFreddy,” is working on a plan to bring “Endless Seinfeld” back while still following the Twitch guidelines. This will undoubtedly be welcomed by all Seinfeld fans, who had come to rely on the stream for their weekly dose of comedy.
Only time will tell if “Endless Seinfeld” streams again. For now, fans of the long-running show will just have to enjoy reruns on other platforms and wait for news of the AI comic’s return.
