Spotify now lets you select which playlists you’d like to impact your recommendations less

The music streaming service Spotify is making a change to the way it recommends songs. The company recently announced a new feature which allows users to select playlists that they would like to impact their music recommendations less.

The new feature works by allowing users to choose which of their existing playlists they’d like to “de-prioritize” so that it won’t affect future recommendations. As a result, users can tailor the music they hear in their Spotify Recommendations. This change will allow users to enjoy a wider variety of music without having to constantly update their playlists.

The new feature comes in response to feedback from Spotify users who felt restricted by the music streaming service’s current recommendation algorithm. Currently, Spotify’s recommendation algorithm considers your recent listening history and the playlists you follow to come up with new recommendations, so if a user only listens to a certain type of music, their music recommendations will be restricted to that genre.

The new feature should help Spotify users to access new music within their own personal style. By deselecting certain playlists from their music recommendations, users canny broaden their horizons and discover new music outside of their usual realms.

It’s also worth noting that users can opt out of the feature if they wish. This means that users who rely on Spotify’s recommendations and are happy with their existing music recommendations can continue to do so.

All in all, the new feature is a great way for Spotify users to tailor their music recommendations and discover new music. It’s a great example of how the streaming service is adapting to user feedback and tailoring its recommendations accordingly.
