The upcoming series is called Godzilla: Singular Point, and it’s set to debut this summer, which means we’re merely months away from experiencing our favorite radioactive dinosaur in a totally new way.

The crew consists of the professor and bear researcher, Yuko Tani; Mei Kamino, an expert on the study of dragonflowers; Rilu-elu Belu-be, a robot engineer and inventor; their boss, the mycologist doctor, Yunagi Kanno; and a secretive weapon engineer, Dr. Gondo. So, the story is sure to be an interesting journey.

But, the real excitement lies in the way the series will connect to the movies. The show will act as a sort of prequel to the MonsterVerse, elaborating on characters and events that occurred before Godzilla and the other mega monsters of melted onto the walls of human destruction. It also kicks off with a clash between the two titans and promises to deliver plenty of monster action with a variety of creatures to battle along the way.

The series is also expected to feature plenty of cameos by other kaiju from the franchise’s pantheon of creatures, including Mothra and King Ghidorah. With the latest trailer for the show dropping in April, it was confirmed that Mechagodzilla, a robotic version of Godzilla, will also be making an appearance, with various scientists trying to create their own version of the king of monsters.
