Splinter Cell is one of the most popular franchises of all time. It’s renowned for its groundbreaking stealth action gameplay, fantastic storyline and incredible graphics. After years of speculation, Ubisoft recently confirmed that a remake of the original Splinter Cell game is in the works. Here’s everything we know so far.
The remake will be an open-world, immersive sim-style single-player adventure. Players will have the freedom to approach missions in a variety of ways, using stealth, aggression and problem-solving skills to complete objectives. The game will also feature robust AI, as well as improved graphics and new animations.
As for the storyline, Ubisoft has kept tight-lipped about the exact details; however, it’s safe to assume that the remake will follow a similar narrative to the original game. The story follows Sam Fisher, a former CIA agent who is recruited by the National Security Agency to go undercover and investigate a series of terrorist attacks.
The remake will also feature some new content. There will be new weapons, items, tools and gadgets that can be used to achieve objectives. Additionally, players will be able to fully customize their gear and loadouts, allowing them to tailor the game’s experience to their own playstyle.
Finally, Splinter Cell’s classic multiplayer modes will be making a return in the remake. The iconic Spies vs Mercs game mode, which sees two teams of four take each other on in asymmetric multiplayer action, will be making a comeback. Additionally, new game modes and features are expected to be included.
At the moment, not much information has been revealed about the Splinter Cell remake. However, from what we do know, it looks to be a promising game that should excite fans of the original. We’ll keep you posted as more information is released.
