WhatsApp’s latest iOS update adds picture-in-picture for video calls

WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, recently announced a new update for their iOS version that introduces picture-in-picture (PiP) mode for video calls. This PiP mode allows iOS users to keep their video calls active while multitasking on their devices.

The PiP mode can be activated with a single tap during the video call. When active, users can move the PiP window to any corner of the screen, allowing them to keep their video call active while at the same time using other applications. The PiP window can be minimized, or the user can switch back to the full video call view whenever they want.

This new update is sure to simplify the user experience and make multitasking during video calls much easier. WhatsApp has also added a PiP widget that allows users to quickly access their video calls from the Home Screen. This adds more flexibility to the app, and makes it much easier for users to quickly access the video calls.

The PiP mode does not have any audio playback controls, however, so users will not be able to pause or mute their audio during the video calls. Furthermore, the PiP window cannot be used alongside picture-in-picture for other media, like YouTube videos.

This new update is sure to revolutionize the way users interact with the app. By introducing PiP mode, WhatsApp is adding a much needed layer of convenience to its video call feature. With this latest update, the app is sure to become even more popular among users.
