Review: PlayStation VR2 is a huge leap that still can’t escape its niche

PlayStation VR2 is a technological leap forward in the world of virtual reality gaming, offering an immersive experience like never before. With its improved resolution, smooth tracking and sharper visuals, it’s a worthy upgrade to the original PlayStation VR. However, it’s still far from being a must-have accessory for all gamers, and has its own niche following.

When it comes to display, the PlayStation VR2 offers significantly improved visuals. It has a combined resolution of 1920 x 1080, giving players a much clearer, sharper look at their virtual worlds. The screen has also been upgraded from OLED to LCD, which offers a much easier to view image with richer colors and better clarity. The tracking has also been improved, with players now able to move around their environment with more precision.

However, despite all the improvements to the hardware, the PlayStation VR2 still has a quite a limited selection of games. There are some great titles such as Astrobot: Rescue Mission, Asgard’s Wrath and Iron Man VR, but there simply aren’t enough games to make PlayStation VR2 a must-have device. Furthermore, only a handful of the games are able to be played in true stereoscopic 3D, which is an essential feature for an immersive experience.

That being said, if you are a fan of virtual reality gaming, the PlayStation VR2 is a great purchase. The improved visuals, tracking and selection of games make it a great device for those who are into the genre, but it’s still far from being a must-have device for all gamers. It’s a niche accessory for now, but its future looks bright with more games and even better visuals being released.
