Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Others Join Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu Remake

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the latest actor to join Robert Eggers’ upcoming Nosferatu remake. He joins an impressive cast of actors and talent, giving the film an extra push it needed to make it one of the most anticipated films of 2021.

Nosferatu is an iconic horror film directed by F.W. Murnau in 1922. It is the earliest surviving adaptation of Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel, Dracula. Considered a classic of silent cinema, Murnau’s film follows the journey of a young real estate agent, Thomas Hutter, and his journey to Transylvania to take a job offer from the mysterious Count Orlok. The original film starred Max Shreck as the iconic vampire Count Orlok.

Now Eggers is revisiting the classic horror film with a modern twist. The film is to be released in 2021 and it will star an experienced cast of actors suitable for such an iconic role. In addition to Taylor-Johnson, other cast members include Willem Dafoe, Robert Pattinson, and Anya Taylor-Joy.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson who is known for his roles in films such as Nowhere Boy, Kick-Ass and Avengers: Age of Ultron will play Thomas Hutter. Willem Dafoe, who is no stranger to horror films, will play Jonathan Harker – Hutter’s friend who assists him during his journey to Transylvania. Robert Pattinson will be playing Count Orloks and Anya Taylor-Joy will portray his bride, Vrania.

Eggers has been very open and transparent about how he is looking to modernize the film. He said “I’m making Nosferatu as a period-set action-horror-love-story, not as a tribute or a remake but as a re-adaptation – honoring Murnau’s film without being bound to it.”

This highly anticipated film is sure to take viewers back to the classic horror days with a modern twist and the incredible cast members have added to the buzz surrounding the release. Nosferatu is set to release in 2021 and this iconic horror film will surely keep viewers at the edge of their seats.
