What’s the best student laptop? We asked students

When it comes to finding the best laptop for students, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. What’s best for one student might not be suitable for another, as everyone has different needs and preferences when it comes to a good laptop. There are, however, a few criteria that any laptop for students should have, such as portability, durability, and enough processing power to handle schoolwork.

To get a better idea of what makes the best laptop for students, we asked students directly. We received a variety of student responses, with two prevailing themes: portability and hardware. Many students said they prefer laptops that are lightweight and easy to carry between classes, which is why manufacturers like Apple, Dell, and HP have created models that are both lightweight and powerful. Other students said they preferred machines with more powerful hardware, such as more RAM and an SSD, to handle more intensive tasks such as video and photo editing.

We also discovered that many students prioritize the price when selecting a laptop. Students mentioned that the total cost of the laptop is more important than the components it offers. They said they prefer a laptop with a lower upfront cost, but one that can still last for a good number of years and accommodate their school work.

The students we surveyed also pointed out that the laptop’s battery life is important, as it will determine how much studying they can do without having to find a power outlet in the meantime. A strong enough battery to last through classes and studying is important, as it saves the student from having to carry a charger around with them.

Finally, students pointed out that customer support and warranty plans were important to them when selecting a laptop. Many said they wanted to be sure that the company is willing to stand behind the product, and is available to help in case the laptop encounters any problems.

It’s clear that the laptop that’s best for each student is different and depends on the individual’s needs and preferences. However, the criteria mentioned in this article is a good starting point for finding the perfect laptop for your individual situation.
