Trump Breaks Facebook Silence With Incredibly Lame Post

Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, has returned to the social media platform Facebook this week – four months after losing the 2020 election – and he did so with a rather…uninspiring post.

The post itself was not a political statement, instead it featured a photo of Trump, which was captioned with the words: “There’s always a reason to smile.” Accompanying this message was a link to shopgop.com – a website that promotes Trump’s candidacy.

Unsurprisingly, Trump’s post was met with widespread criticism. Many users on Facebook described the post as “lame” and “pointless” and others accused Trump of using the post as a way to increase traffic to his website.

It appears that Trump’s silence on Facebook may have done little to win him any favor in the social media world. His return post was a far cry from the often bombastic and controversial statements usually associated with the former President.

When combined with the fact that Trump was banned from a variety of major social media platforms following the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, it’s unsurprising that his return post was met with so much criticism from Facebook users.

It seems clear that Trump’s days of using social media as a platform for his own political views may be over for now, but it still remains to be seen how he will handle his presence on Facebook in the weeks ahead. If his first post is any indication, then it seems like he has a lot of work to do to win back the support of his legions of social media followers.
