Google introduces India’s DigiLocker integration to Files app to access official documents

Google today announced the integration of India’s official document digital locker system, DigiLocker, with its Files by Google app. The new integration will allow users to access their official documents, such as driving license and PAN cards, directly from their mobile devices.

This new feature comes after the successful launch of Google Pay’s DigiLocker integration in the Files app earlier this year. By integrating DigiLocker with Files, Google is bringing another secure and safe way to store documents on the app.

With this new integration, Indian users will be able to link their DigiLocker account with the Google app. To access their documents, users can log in to their DigiLocker account and click on the ‘File’ tab for connecting their DigiLocker account with the Google app. The Files app will download the documents directly from the DigiLocker to the app. The documents will remain secure and can be accessed anytime and anywhere.

The integration will also help users keep their documents updated. All changes to existing documents, such as PAN or Driving License, will get updated automatically in the app, so users can view the new document without having to re-upload it. Once documents are downloaded on the app, they can also be shared with other people easily via the ‘Share’ feature in the Google app.

Google’s new integration with DigiLocker will help simplify the process of accessing and sharing documents without having to download and store them in various places. It will also ensure secure storage of important documents in the Files app.
