Linus Tech Tips YouTube Channel Is Down After Crypto Scammer Hack

Recently, the popular YouTuber, Linus Alexanders Sebastion, known as Linus Tech Tips, has publicly announced that his YouTube channel has been targeted and compromised by a crypto scammer hacker.

It all started when Linus Tech Tips (LTT), a popular YouTube channel with millions of followers, was hacked by an anonymous cyber-criminal. The hacker went through and deleted Linus’s original YouTube channel along with several other associated channels. Furthermore, the hacker had changed social media accounts and the email address associated with those channels. In addition to deleting and changing accounts, the hacker also switched up the channel’s monthly subscription fees, increasing it from three euros to two thousand euros.

The hacker was apparently able to enter the channel’s account due to a breach in its security. After the hacker took over the account, he contacted LTT’s staff warning them that he was going to launch a cryptocurrency scam if the ransom of two thousand euros was not paid.

The team at LTT immediately started working with the YouTube security team and the local police force to try and get the channel back, but to no avail. It seemed the hacker had covered his tracks and was not easy to track down.

As a result, the YouTube channel was effectively taken offline and the many followers of LTT were left in the dark about what was happening. Fortunately, LTT has been able to recover some of their content through a statement they posted on their website.

The incident just goes to show how vulnerable digital platforms can be and is a reminder to social media users that they should take steps to ensure their accounts are as secure as possible.

We all hope that YouTube, the cyber police and LTT are able to track down and apprehend the hacker. Until then, we wish LTT all the best and look forward to when their YouTube channel is back online!
