Philips Hue is delaying its Matter update

Philips Hue, a Dutch manufacturer of LED light bulbs and related home automation products, has announced a delay in the release of its latest software update, which was set to introduce numerous new features to the company’s products.

The update, called “Matter,” was slated to bring with it a range of improvements, including enhanced voice controls that would allow users to interact more easily with Philips Hue products, as well as improved color accuracy and the ability to save and share settings with friends.

Unfortunately, Philips Hue has decided to push back the release of its Matter update due to incompatibilities with some of its products. According to reports, Philips Hue discovered during its initial testing phase that the new software caused problems with its Zigbee-enabled products, which are used to connect multiple Philips Hue devices to each other and to a home’s Wi-Fi network.

The company has since claimed that it is working hard to iron out the issues and expects that the Matter update will be available sometime in the near future. Until then, customers using Philips Hue products may have to continue to rely on the existing software and its existing features.

Despite the delay, many users are still excited for the updates that will be provided with the new update. With the enhanced voice control capabilities, users will be able to control their Philips Hue products by simply speaking commands, allowing users to customize the colors and scenes of their rooms or select the perfect lighting for any activity.

Furthermore, the improved color accuracy will allow for greater control over the illumination of any room, allowing users to find the perfect lighting from a full range of colors – from deep blues to warm oranges.

The Matter update was undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated updates from Philips Hue, though it appears that fans of the brand will have to wait just a bit longer before they can enjoy the full suite of benefits. With any luck, the company will resolve the compatibility issues soon and the update will be released in the near future.
