Stranger Things Meets A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 for a Remake of Witchboard

With the advent of streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu, movie reboots are becoming more and more commonplace; this is especially true for cult classic horror films. This is why it is no surprise that Stranger Things has become one of the biggest media phenomena of the past few years, with its blend of horror, nostalgia, and a Dungeons and Dragons-inspired plot line. That’s why many fans have been clamoring for a potential reboot of Witchboard, a 1986 film that explores the supernatural. However, what if we combined Stranger Things and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors to create a remake of Witchboard?

Witchboard follows the story of a group of teenagers who discover a ouija board and begin to play with it. Unbeknownst to them, a dangerous spirit is unleashed, and soon the stakes are raised as their lives are threatened by an entity seeking revenge.

For a remake of Witchboard, a strong focus should be placed on the characters and the relationships between them. In particular, Billy from Stranger Things would be the perfect character to lead the new film, as his unique arc and interactions with the Upside Down bring a different layer to the supernatural elements of the story. Through Billy, the film would be able to acknowledge the trauma and darkness of the characters’ lives. This can be strengthened through a combination of nightmare sequences and dialogue.

In addition, the addition of Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors would add an interesting twist to the Witchboard remake. Rather than being a purely evil entity, Freddy could offer a helping hand to the protagonists, guiding them to whatever information or items they will need in order to save themselves and others. This would allow a dynamic between good and evil forces, as the protagonists and Freddy may come into conflict through their respective goals.

A remake of Witchboard combining elements of Stranger Things and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 would be a thrilling modern version of the 80s cult classic. Through interesting and complex characters, dream sequences, and the engaging theme of good versus evil, the film would be a hit and satisfy both fans of the original and those who appreciate a strong horror narrative.
