The Last of Us PC port gets a fix from Nvidia – but its biggest problem remains

In 2013, the critically acclaimed survival horror game The Last of Us released on PlayStation 3 and quickly became one of the most beloved games of the generation. Eight years later, The Last of Us was finally released as a PC port. Though the game received critical acclaim, the PC port suffered from a number of bugs and glitches, which made the gaming experience less than ideal.

However, earlier this week Nvidia released a fix designed to improve the PC port’s performance on their graphics cards. The patch is meant to address bugs with anti-aliasing and improved performance, specifically for Nvidia GPUs. While this is undoubtedly a positive move from Nvidia, it does not solve the port’s other issues.

The Last of Us on PC is still rife with game-breaking bugs and glitches. Many players have complained about game crashes, crashing audio drivers, and a host of other issues. The game also suffers from a number of graphical issues, including poor texture performance and odd lighting. The game is also prone to suffering from stuttering and framerate drops, even on more powerful PCs.

Ultimately, the Nvidia patch is a welcome step in the right direction, but it does not solve the port’s biggest problems. There is still plenty of room for improvement, and it is up to the developer to fix these issues. Hopefully, they can do so soon so that PC players can enjoy The Last of Us the way it was meant to be experienced.
