It’s been four long years since the last Star Wars Celebration, and Star Wars fans are incredibly excited for the 2023 Celebration. As soon as the doors open, diehard fans will swarm the Anaheim Convention Center and be greeted by days filled with panels, workshops, screenings, and a whole lot of news and trailers.
This year’s Celebration will be extra special: not only will we get updates on upcoming projects, but every fan will have a chance to take part in the exciting adventures that come with it.
To start, fans will get a first look at the anticipated “Star Wars: The Old Republic” video game. For those unfamiliar, the game is set during the time of the Galactic Republic, and it will give players a chance to explore the depths of the Star Wars universe. There could be teasers for massive PvP battles and highlights of the stunning planets and costumes players will have access to.
But that’s not all: director J.J. Abrams is returning to the Star Wars universe and will give us a glimpse of his new movie, Star Wars: Dark Empire. We can expect to see snippets of the plot, cast, and characters of this highly anticipated movie. In fact, it’s rumored that original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher could be making an appearance.
On top of that, Disney has a few surprises up its sleeve. Rumors abound that they may be releasing a brand new animated series. This series would be set in the clone wars timeline, exploring the battles between the republic and separatist forces.
Of course, no Celebration would be complete without an appearance by the Star Wars TV show. This one is set to be particularly special, as it will reveal the first footage from the upcoming show. It’s rumored to have new actors, as well as many familiar faces from the original series.
Finally, special guests will hold panels and Q&As throughout the event, giving us some insight into the individual projects that make up the entire Star Wars universe.
