Since its launch nearly three decades ago, Strava has become one of the most popular apps for tracking workouts. Now, the popular app is finally embracing a feature that musicians and athletes alike have been waiting for: Spotify integration.
Strava users can now sync their Spotify account with their Strava profile to automatically capture the music they listen to while they run, bike, and more. As Strava boasted in its announcement, “The integration means you don’t have to guess what you were listening to on your last big run or ride.”
Using Spotify integration with Strava makes it easier for users to track their music and recall the songs they were listening to as they hit their personal milestones. It also makes it easier for users to find routes for their workouts, allowing them to easily search for nearby runs or rides set to the beats of their favourite artists.
The Spotify integration with Strava follows in the footsteps of several other integrated audio streaming apps, such as Apple Music and iHeartRadio, that have recently joined the platform.
In its announcement, Strava added that connecting with your music is a great way to stay motivated as you work towards fitness goals and “the perfect companion to keep pushing yourself.”
Though the integration of various audio streaming apps with Strava is certainly something to celebrate, 84 years is a long time to wait. It’s exciting to think that we are finally here, and with Strava’s embrace of Spotify, there’s no doubt that athletes will have an even more enjoyable and rewarding experience when they hear the right beats come through their headphones.
