Death Stranding 2 trailer shows series continues tradition of being weird AF

There is no doubt that Death Stranding was one of the strangest video games ever made, and its trailer for the upcoming sequel is no exception. The trailer, which was unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show, certainly kept up with the franchise’s tradition of being “weird AF.”

The trailer opens with a typical conversation between protagonist Sam and his mother, Amelie. Amelie appears to be explaining to Sam about how the space-time continuum works, which can be seen as a symbol for how Sam’s journey in the game may be just as mysterious. As the trailer progresses, the visuals become increasingly bizarre, with images of giant figures and landscapes dominated by giant insects. Sam’s mission appears to involve connecting different parts of the world in order to prevent a mysterious “voidout.”

The visuals are not the only thing that make this trailer so strange. The dialogue between Sam and Amelie seems to be speaking in some kind of coded language. There is also a female narrator speaking in the background, certain words have a lot of power and could be an indication of the new powers Sam can access during his journey. One of these words is “Timefall,” which could suggest time manipulation powers.

The ending of the trailer is also quite peculiar, as Sam is being pushed forward by an unknown force. It appears that the mystery of Death Stranding will be as perplexing as ever when the game officially launches. All in all, the Death Stranding 2 trailer successfully upholds the tradition of the series being “weird AF.” Fans can now look forward to an even deeper story about Sam and the strange world of Death Stranding.
