On April 12, 2023, the news broke that three more venture capital firms–Capital XRP, Outset Ventures and Hyperloon Group–have signed on to be the next vehicles of funding for the upcoming TechCrunch Disrupt event in Barcelona, Spain. This news follows the announcement that the venture capital arm of Spanish insurer MAPFRE had also signed on, making it the fifth venture capital firm to join the startup battle.

TechCrunch Disrupt is a premier startup conference and pitch competition held annually in various cities around the world. This year, the event will be held in Barcelona, Spain for the first time and is expected to draw a range of startups and investors from around the world. The event features a startup competition which provides the winner with world-wide recognition, access to high-level investors, and the chance to earn a $100,000 investment from one of the participating venture capital firms.
