You won’t find 100 players in a Team Fortress 2 server, but that’s a good thing

In an era where games like Call of Duty and Fortnite are incredibly popular, it’s fair to say that Team Fortress 2 has been somewhat left behind. However, this doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its passionate group of fans.

Team Fortress 2 has been around since 2007 and its servers can still be filled with plenty of players. However, you won’t find servers holding more than around 100 players. This might sound like a disappointment but, in many ways, it’s a good thing.

For starters, the smaller maps Team Fortress 2 features means that the game can be kept manageable. If you had a server with hundreds of players, it would be a disorganized mess and the different classes would get mixed up or even clash against each other. This isn’t the case in Team Fortress 2 because the smaller server sizes allow for a somewhat organized match.

Another positive aspect of having fewer players in a server is that the game becomes a lot more personal. It’s not about having the most kills or racking up the highest number of points. It’s about having a good relationship with your teammates. It’s about creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere within the server. Team Fortress 2 serves as a great reminder that gaming can be a fun experience when you play in a respectful and friendly environment.

Finally, having a server populated with fewer players also makes it easier to find and join matches. You don’t have to spend ages scrolling through large servers waiting for a free spot, you can just simply join one of the smaller servers and get playing within minutes.

So, while it might seem like a downside to not find servers with hundreds of players, it’s actually a positive aspect of Team Fortress 2. And it’s something that makes it stand out from other games in the marketplace.
