He’s also been adamant about fulfilling his vision for the franchise, insisting that he’s giving each of the sequels the care and attention they deserve in order to make them a worthy continuation of the first film.
With that in mind, it appears Cameron has no short-term plans to abandon the Avatar franchise. In addition to going all-in on the sequels, he has also been collaborating with Disney on a new theme park experience themed around the Avatar world. Between the movie sequels and the planned attractions, it’s clear that James Cameron is serious about staying committed to the Avatar franchise.
For Cameron’s millions of fans, this could be disappointing news, especially those who were hoping to see the director return to his science fiction roots. Nonetheless, Cameron doesn’t seem to be wavering, as his passion for Avatar continues to reignite. Whether or not this will be the case for the long haul remains to be seen, but for the foreseeable future, Cameron appears to be content with keeping his focus on the Avatar world.
