New Acolyte Set Pictures Tease the High Republic’s Live-Action Debut

New set pictures have just been released of the upcoming live action Star Wars series, High Republic, teasing an exciting look into the future of the beloved, intergalactic franchise.

The pictures, taken while shooting in Pinewood Studios, Spain, show a first look at the Acolytes, one of the many characters featured in the series. The Acolytes, a race of ageless genteel Force-sensitive humans, are described as a “balance-keeping, law-enforcing force” within the Jedi Order and will take center stage when High Republic launches later this year.

The new set photos offer some of the first glimpses of the Acolytes in their full regalia. The images feature a number of different characters in elaborate ceremonial robes and masks crafted by international award-winning costume designer Daisuke Hopwood. The costumes have an electric and tribal feel to them, hinting at the mysterious culture and tradition the Acolytes live and breathe by.

High Republic, a project of Lucasfilm’s streaming service, Disney+ will take place 200 years before the events of the first movie of the prequel trilogy, The Phantom Menace. It will follow a group of Jedi as they undertake a mission to locate a lost set of Jedi relics.
